Sindh High Court Friday issued notice to Deputy Attorney General and Advocate General Sindh for January 5, 2006 on petition of sacked provincial revenue minister and his brother against registration of false cases against them.

Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, who is also senior vice president of ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (Q) and now on protective bail by Sindh High Court, alleged that false and fabricated cases were being lodged against him on behest of Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim.

He submitted despite of being exonerated by the inspection team of Prime Minister from all these charges after inquiry the provincial machinery was continuously pressurising and harassing him on directives of CM by lodging false and fabricated cases.

He said he also produced charge sheet against CM and his family members for their involvement in cases pertaining to rape, smuggling of women, misappropriation of funds and 70,000 wheat bags for draught affected people, corruption in reconstruction contracts, issuance of threats to district returning officer while filing objections against his rival candidate and running a private jail in Thar.

But these cases were handled by provincial investigation agencies, which could not be honest and impartial, he submitted praying court to direct federal interior ministry to conduct investigation into these allegations.

He sought injunction to restrain respondents from taking adverse action including registration of FIR without prior permission of court. He prayed court that investigation of all cases against him be transferred to ministry of interior for honest inquiry and he may be provided security from federal law enforcement agencies.
